OpenSciEd Curriculum Training
OpenSciEd units use phenomena to position students as sense-makers, questioners, and investigators of science concepts. Students drive learning as they use the scientific and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts to investigate and build explanations for science core ideas.
Get hands-on experience for OpenSciEd implementation at a professional learning session. Two sessions now open for registration: January 28-29, 2020 in Bossier City, LA or February 4-5, 2020 in Baton Rouge, LA.
In these 2-day OpenSciEd professional learning sessions, Dana Center facilitators will:
- Familiarize teachers with one OpenSciEd units so they are confident and excited about enacting it with students;
- Prepare teachers for the practical aspects of implementation;
- Support teachers in engaging in key OpenSciEd features and routines that cut across all units; and
- Support teachers in considering specific strategies for addressing student needs within their school context.
