Taylor Darwin, Ph.D.

I grew up in a rural community where few students pursued postsecondary education, especially in STEM. That experience shaped my career in mathematics education, constantly driving me to ask: Who is left out and how do we bring them in? Starting off as a secondary mathematics teacher led me to higher education and then eventually educational research at the University of Southern California.

Now, my work focuses on supporting educators and institutions in rethinking mathematics pathways, expanding access to corequisite learning, and ensuring that more students have the opportunity to succeed in STEM. At the heart of it all, I believe that math should be a space where all learners see themselves, their experiences, and their potential.
